A storm collar (also called rain collar or drain ring in some regions) is an essential part of a professional flue gas exhaust system. This metal collar is placed around the pipe just above the roof duct or shaft cover plate, and ensures that rainwater does not run down the flue pipe into the shaft or home.
Made of high-quality, weather-resistant metal (often stainless steel or galvanized steel), the storm collar guarantees a watertight seal, even in heavy wind and rain – typical for the Belgian climate.
